ANT in Action

History

In February of 2020, after much prayer, the founders of A New Today Counseling Services, Artemio and Shauna Ortiz, decided to create a Faith-based ministry focusing on youth and special populations. The newly created entity was named ANT (A New Today) in Action to symbolize the Body of Christ being the hands and feet of God. The idea was to provide healthy, safe, and fun community activities for youth and adults with intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, and special abilities. AiA planned to organize Special Events for this population in the Rio Grande Valley (Texas) that would be available free of charge. But then… the following month… a pandemic hit the globe…

Needless to say, AiA transformed into a more individualized ministry. For over a year, AiA hosted activities for individual families. On Resurrection Day 2021, the first AiA group event was held! Since that time, activities, services, and assistance have been provided at a variety of locations in the RGV. We pray that God continues to open the doors to fulfill the mission of this ministry!
